The project that I chose was about sound waves. I am working with one of the 6th grade science teachers on a visual vocabulary activity. She is working on sound waves. This project comes from the OER Commons.

This is a great lesson for seeing the waves and how interference affects the waves.

Ways to use Skype at school
- Professionally: I would encourage teachers to Skype with a parent that was unable to attend a conference. Right before conferences a teacher was telling me that a parent wanted to meet with the teacher, the parent, and the math tutor for the student. The parent and tutor were unable to meet at the times available for the teacher during the conference times and during the school day the parent and tutor were unable to attend a conference at school, Skype could be an alternative.
- Classroom Connection: One classroom connection could be when two of our 8th grade students attend the Youth and Government Seminar in Charleston, usually in February or March, the students could Skype with the classroom about their trip on a daily basis. When the students get an opportunity to meet with the Senators and Representatives and have time to talk to them, the class could be connected via Skype to participate in the Round Table discussion.
